National Assoc. of State EMS Officials issue a brief on Narcan Use
This is an area of great interest to many of the police departments in our EMS System. The EMS Office issued a position paper to the System in April of this year on this subject. The attached Brief from the National Association of State EMS Officials expands on Dr. Ortinau's original document to provide history, background, rationale, and recommendations for those considering a police naloxone program.
Governor signs SB3414 (EMS Education Standards)
The IDPH announced that Governor Quinn has signed into law an act that will enable the state to utilize the new EMS Education Standards.
