Barrington Crew encounters a Breach Presentation as they arrived on the scene...

7/18/2015

In mid-July, Barrington was dispatched for a woman in active labor.  On arrival the crew found a full-term woman on the bedroom floor on her hands and knees with a midwife trying to assist with delivery.   Their assessment revealed a breach presentation with imminent delivery.  The crew took over patient care assessing vital signs and the delivery process, as well as initiating an IV.  On the second contraction after their arrival the baby delivered.  A healthy crying baby boy entered the world with an APGAR score of 8 at 1 minute and 9 at 5 minutes.  Care continued for both patients and a positive outcome was reported.  Congratulations to the entire crew.
