Funeral Arrangements for Des Plaines FF/PM Paul Miller

We once again thank everyone for their support, wishes, condolences, and offers of assistance following the off-duty death of Firefighter/Paramedic Paul Miller following an Easter Sunday motorcycle crash.  “Pauly” was well known throughout the northern suburbs, having worked in Lincolnshire-Riverwoods FPD, Highwood FD, and Prospect Heights FPD in the past.  At the time of his death, he was an active full-time member of the Des Plaines FD and an active part-time member of the McHenry Township FPD.  During his career, he served as a diver, technical rescue specialist, and instructor. 

Below is the Obituary: 
The Funeral Home is Oehler Funeral Home at 2099 Miner St in Des Plaines (just west of I-294 & Dempster St).  The Visitation is this Friday (5/3) from 1300 hours until 2000 hours.  There will be a uniformed-personnel walkthrough at 1900 hours. The funeral is Saturday (5/4) at noon at the funeral home.  The service will be very short. Those attending should be aware that if there is a very large turn-out, some may not be able to get into the service.  Following the service, there will be a procession to Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, where there will be a brief graveside service.  The default for fire service personnel is staff cars or personal vehicles, however those bringing apparatus will also be welcome to participate in the procession to the cemetery.
